When someone in Lahore searches for “restaurant near me”, “best biryani in Gulberg” or “skin clinic in Johar Town”, Google decides which businesses to show first. That decision is local SEO — and for a restaurant or a clinic, it often matters more than a general Google ranking, because the customer is nearby and ready to visit.
1. Claim and complete your Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on Google Search and Google Maps. It is free, and it is the single most important local SEO step for a restaurant or clinic.
Check that you have claimed the profile under an account you control, entered your exact business name as it appears on your signboard, selected the right category, and added your phone number, website, correct opening hours and a short, honest description of what you offer.
An incomplete profile is a common reason a business does not show up, so fill in every field you can.
2. Keep your name, address and phone number consistent
Google checks whether your business details match across the internet. If your name is spelled one way on Google, another way on Facebook, and a third way on your website, Google is less sure which listing to trust.
Use the same details everywhere: the same business name in the same spelling, the same phone number, the same address written the same way, and the same website address. This is sometimes called NAP consistency — name, address and phone.
3. Add real photos and your services
People choose a restaurant or clinic by what they see. A profile with no photos looks unfinished, and Google gives more visibility to profiles that are active and complete.
Add photos that are real and recent: the outside of your building and your signboard, so customers can find you; the inside — dining area for a restaurant, waiting area and treatment rooms for a clinic; and your food, dishes, equipment or facilities.
Also list your services or menu items on the profile, so Google can match your business to the searches people actually type.
4. Ask for reviews — and reply to them
Reviews are one of the strongest local signals. A business with recent, genuine reviews is more likely to be shown — and chosen — than one with no reviews at all.
Ask happy customers to leave a review on Google while the experience is fresh, and make it easy — a QR code on the bill, the reception desk or the table works well. Reply to every review, good or bad, in a polite and professional way.
Never buy fake reviews, and never offer a reward in exchange for a positive review. Fake reviews can get your profile suspended. A smaller number of real reviews is worth more than a large number of fake ones.
5. Make your website local
Your website should make it obvious where you are and who you serve. Google reads your pages to understand your location, so a generic website with no mention of Lahore will struggle to rank for Lahore searches.
Check your website for these basics: your business name, address and phone number are visible, ideally in the footer of every page; your main pages mention Lahore and your area — for example Gulberg, Johar Town, DHA or Model Town; and your contact page has your full address, your hours, and a map or directions. It should also work well on a phone, because most local searches happen on mobile.
6. Create a page for each main service
One page cannot rank well for everything. A restaurant that serves desi food, barbecue and fast food, or a clinic that offers skin care, dental care and general consultations, needs separate pages for its main services.
For each main service, a page should explain what the service is in plain language, who it is for, what a customer should expect when they visit, and how to book, order or contact you. Only create pages for services and areas you genuinely serve. Thin, copied pages with only the area name changed do not help.
7. Keep your information up to date, and track what works
Nothing damages a local business faster than wrong information. A customer who arrives to find you closed, or calls a number that no longer works, will not come back — and may leave a bad review.
Update your profile and website whenever something changes: opening hours, including public holidays and Ramadan timings; phone or WhatsApp number; address, if you move; and services or menu, if you add or remove something.
Also check your Google Business Profile regularly: how many people viewed it, and how many called, asked for directions or visited your website; and how many reviews you received. If calls and direction requests are rising, your local visibility is improving.
